Everything, everywhere, all at once

I know – it’s a movie title. But it’s the only phrase that captures what’s going through my mind trying to keep up with tech, especially AI.

It feels like a constant game of catch-up. I find myself asking: Do I know enough? Am I using the right tools? Is this better than that?

The result? A loop of trying and ditching new tools every day. By the time I’m testing the fifth one, there’s already an open-source version of the first two… so I circle back. Then something new drops. I’m stuck in a cycle of trying, rarely using, and ultimately forgetting what I tried two months ago because I’m still trying.

That’s why I’m starting this series: to break the cycle, make sense of the noise, and find the open-source AI tools that actually stick.
